Event Activities

Below is an overview of event activities that will be incorporated into the BlueSky Challenge.  The course stages will be finalised 2 months prior to the event, and will be announced as an update to this page of info and via newsletter.

Mountain Biking

This will be your main mode of transport for the majority of the day. BlueSky Experiences HQ is a short distance from some awesome mountain biking and you will access some exceptional trails that will take you through some breath-taking scenery. We will also have some exhilarating downhill sections to entertain the best mountain bikers, and many achievable trails for the beginner. It has been constructed to challenge you at all levels of expertise!

Trekking/Running

This is the activity that will connect you to some special activities and the most remote checkpoints (should you choose to reach them).  Of course, feel free to break into a run at any times - it does happen!

Water Based Activities

In the past these activities have ranged from boogie boarding, sphering, underwater teasers, short swims or kayaking down a stretch of river, tor crossing a loch to a secret checkpoint with only inflated inner tubes to keep you afloat! You can bank on the kayaking though - this takes place using our very safe sit-on-top kayaks. If we do include special water activities they are always thoroughly specified, checked, brief, closely supervised and achievable as a team.

Orienteering

Whilst mountain biking and trekking/running we always ensure that navigation plays a key part. As a special activity we include a detailed orienteering course that will involve locating control points hidden on land using micro-mapped features. Time to brush up on those map reading skills!

Secret Challenges

This is time to use some brainpower, instead of leg power! These challenges are devised to benefit the accurate and sharp teams and cannot be rushed. No more to be said or the secret will be out.

Rope Work Activities

In the past we have included tree climbs, zip wires, abseiling and tyrolean gorge crossings.  We'll let you know if we develop a location for one of these activities.  Suffice to say that these are always thoroughly specified, checked, briefed, closely supervised and achievable as a team.
